PC4L (POSITIVE CULTURE FOR LEARNING)

Positive Culture, Better outcomes

What IsThe PC4L-SW Framework?

PC4L-SW helps us to build a culture within our kura where positive behaviour and learning is a way of life. It begins by looking at whole-school change initiatives, before developing targeted group programmes and individual student support services. PC4L-SW is a framework developed to cater for our ākonga by helping whānau and kaimahi to address behaviour, improve the well-being of ākonga and increase achievement and engagement.

PC4L-SW looks at behaviour and learning of the whole kura as well as an individual ākonga perspective. PB4L-SW is different in each kura, as it is a framework that is tailored to the environmental and cultural needs the PC4L team have identified.

PC4L-SW Framework takes time to implement and is in three stages (tiers). 2022 is our first year and we are working at tier one.

TIER 1 is the foundation on which the other two tiers are built. It looks at the support systems and processes across the whole school  - things that impact on all students and kaimahi.

TIER 2 looks at interventions for students who require additional behaviour and learning support.

TIER 3 looks at more individualised and intensive support for students who experience chronic, severe, and challenging behaviour.
