South Island Basketball Tournament - 

During tournament week the Senior A Boys Basketball team travelled to Blenheim for the 'A' South Island championships. In what was a successful week of basketball the boys managed to get through pool play unbeaten with wins over Hornby, Buller and Mountain View.

The team advanced to the quarter finals against Roncalli College where the boys put on their most comprehensive performance of the tournament, ending up winning 77-57. This led to a semi-final game against Greymouth High School with both teams battling a vomiting bug, we took this game out 91-77.

On Saturday the boys played in the final of the tournament for the second consecutive year against Hillmorton. Hillmorton were too strong on the day, prevailing 83-57. As runner up, Catholic Cathedral College has qualified their boys team for the national championships for the fourth consecutive year. This is an outstanding achievement and is a reflection of the hard work that has been put in.
